Adsorptive Removal of Heavy Metal Ions by Waste Wool

Raw and waste wool were studied for the removal of heavy metal ions such as Zn(II) Cu (II) from wastewater. Characterization both samples was done by attenuated total reflection-Fourier transform infrared (ATR-FTIR) spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), zeta potential analysis. The sorption kinetics on also studied, compared with different models adsorption isotherms. maximum efficiency 95.5% achieved raw at a contact time 3 h concentration 6.25 mg/l. An above 94% obtained Cu(II) initial concentrations mg/l 12.5 after h.
